The Art Of The Car
25 Jan
Fine Art has the Louvre; Opera has its own house in Sydney. Classical music has its many homes. It is only fitting, then, that Art Car enthusiasts should have their own Mecca. This Mecca is the Art car museum located in Houston, Texas. If you have a soft spot for the wonderful works of the world’s great Art Car artists and wish to learn more, then a visit to the Art car museum is well worth the time and effort involved in getting there.
Artist and Art Car enthusiast Ann Harithas in conjunction founded the Art car museum with her husband Jim. Jim himself is a man with no little sway in the world of art himself, having been the director of contemporary art museums as far afield as Washington DC, New York and Houston itself. With that kind of pedigree, the Art car museum has become a home away from home for the Art Car enthusiast.
Located at 140 Heights Boulevard in Houston, the museum is a celebration of car culture, and has its own installation pieces that have been donated by the leading lights of the movement. Regular exhibitions of various themes and artists are an attraction for anyone who wants to learn more about Art Cars, or anyone who knows all they need to know and just wants to appreciate. If you have never been, or would like to go again, you can check out the “Garage Mahal” here at its website: http://www.artcarmuseum.com/.
