The Art Of The Car
23 Jul
The fashion in car art these days is to not refer to it as “car art, but rather “automotive art”. It is easy to understand this, as the term gives the medium a great deal more gravitas. Generally, when you hear an artist referred to as an “automotive artist” it means that he or she has arrived at a point where they are the owner of a reputation that marks them out as being above and beyond what the average could ever hope to achieve. Alan Fearnley is such an artist, as is Nicola Wood. And one would have to consider Bill Neale as a contender for such a title, too.
When the organisers of a Concours d’Elegance need to commission a poster for one of their events, they rarely look past Bill Neale to do the work. A great poster artist, Bill is versatile enough to depict as many different settings and as many different cars as you could name. His ability to capture an impression of speed and competition is indubitable. Living and working in Dallas, Texas, Bill Neale is a multi-award winning artist and a Director of the Automobile Fine Arts Society, for whom he has also designed posters.
