If there is one person who is perfectly positioned to write and speak of art cars, then that person would, without even a shadow of a doubt, be Harrod Blank. It is fitting then, that on top of creating his own art cars and making more than one film to show the wonder of the art car movement, Harrod has put out a few books expressing the aims and the achievements of the movement, and putting on show photographs of some of the best examples.

There is a telling title to his 2004 book Art Cars: The Cars, the Artists, the Obsession and the Craft. No one person has done more to aid the car art movement than Harrod Blank. And if anyone has an art car obsession, it would have to be him. If you are finding it hard to convince someone you know that the Art Car as a place anywhere outside the garage of an eccentric, then there is a lot worse you could do than purchase one of Harrod Blank’s books for them. When the words of the godfather of the Art Car movement are there in front of you, it makes a lot more sense.
