How many times have you thought about how cool it would be if somebody brought out an art car that combined the symbols of Hex magic and the style and class of Mexico? Probably none … However, Kathleen Pearson thought about it, so you can look at it and love it. And Pearson has just the pedigree to create the piece, being as she is of Pennsylvania Dutch stock and based near the US-Mexico border. The most amazing thing about Hex Mex is the fact that it has all been done by hand, rather than using spray stencils to create the art work.

Six hundred hours of work went into putting together this art car, and the intricacy of the car shows where every second of that time went. Thirty-eight authentic Hex signs have been attached to the exterior of the car. These signs, along with six woodcuts of Hoofty Women, frame hand-painted leaves, vines and tulips. The thinking that went into creating Hex Mex could only come from a special kind of brain, and Kathleen Pearson possesses just such a mind. Interior and exterior of the car have been conceptualised, created and compiled to give just the right feel to the car. And it looks pretty special as a result.
